What is NORTE?

Akihiro Tachimoto, an active mountain guide based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, opened the NORTE mountain guide office in the winter of 2006. “Norte” means “north” in Spanish. NORTE fully supports a variety of high quality adventures centered on the northerly-located island of Hokkaido, from powder treks to mountain and sea activities all year round.
We welcome everyone, from beginners looking to climb their first mountain to climbers looking to improve their skills and advanced climbers who want to push themselves to the limit. We look forward to hearing from you.
